A point is the exact location or position on a plane surface. A point is not a thing, but a place. Because of this, a point doesn't have specific dimensions. We indicate the location of a point with a single dot. It could be as small as an ant or as big as a building. Points represents the beginning and the end.

A line is the shortest distance between two points on a plane surface. A line is one-dimensional and has zero width. Lines have different names, such as zigzag, straight, short, and long. A line can indicate the direction or location of an object. Lines are what gives objects their own unique shape and form.

A plane is a flat surface in which objects or a composition lies. Planes have zero thickness and are formed by using lines. Planes are the whole space in which lines, points, objects and compositions lies.

Volume is the three dimensional space that an object occupies. It contains length, width and height. Lines, points and planes come together to form an object's own unique volume. If an object takes up space, then it has volume. Everything around us has its own volume, event the air that we breathe.

  2. Nice blog! Just one opinion on your diagram study is that I think it would show better sense of volume if you draw one more plane on the top for you volume diagram. Good job!
